A new exercise tool
Good afternoon, powerful grandchildren!!!
I decided that I needed a very simple exercise tool. I like to walk but have difficulty on a non-powered treadmill. A powered treadmill costs around $1500 - not in my budget. I like the stair-stepper. What to do.
At the local lumber store I bought two 2x12 boards just over three feet long from the left-over bin for $1.01 each ($8.00 worth of lumber). At home, I cut them into 18-inch pieces. I put a couple dowel pegs in the face of each one so that they would not slide around when stacked on top of each other and so I could make 4 different heights by stacking them.
Does it work? Yes. I can do 23 step-ups on each leg in 30 seconds. At the end of three minutes I am sweating. If I need a slower pace then I can step up one side and down the other and back. If I need an even slower pace, I can step on with both feet then off the other side with both feet then back across again.
$2.02 + some tax and half a dozen 2" dowels and I have a real calorie burner. Look out world!! And G'ma Judith tried it and likes it too!!
Love, G'pa Bob
