Lots has happened

Wow, what an "interesting" six months!!!

After my post in January, Mom became very ill. We got her home in a couple weeks and, through in-home health services, she got so well, excited, and independent that in late March she fell and wound up in the hospital again.

Almost that same week we were instructed to leave our house so that reconstruction could begin as soon as possible (getting 5 consecutive non-rainy/windy days in Seattle is difficult). We wound up in an apartment just south of the hospital and recovery center where Mom was staying.

We had originally planned for a three-week repair period. We even considered staying at the ocean during that time and having me work remotely. The repair actually took seven weeks. Mom was understandably suspicious as the days passed. Her last question almost every day was "You are not going to leave me here are you?" We had promised that she would not die out of our home and were able to keep that promise - just barely.

Mom passed to the next life four days after we got her home. She had been holding out through some very tough experiences.

We still are not moved back in. We got Mom's room ready and that was about it. Then there was the burial preparation and the trip to have her buried.

There are so many people to thank. I will do so in other posts. Now, I thank you as a group for your support and prayers.
